Discover the Faroe Islands Through Your Lens

Join professional photographer and educator Simon Waldram for a transformative photography workshop in the Faroe Islands. Designed for landscape photographers and visual storytellers, this 7-day immersive experience blends technical instruction with creative exploration across one of Europe’s most dramatic and remote archipelagos.

Whether you're refining your composition skills, learning to bracket exposures in shifting light, or simply chasing the mood of the sea and sky, this workshop is built around presence, patience, and the pursuit of earned imagery.

Photography Workshop Highlights

  • Dates: October 8–15, 2026

  • Location: Faroe Islands, Denmark (North Atlantic)

  • Focus: Landscape, adventure, and low-light photography

  • Group Size: Maximum 4 participants for intimate instruction

  • Skill Level: Intermediate to advanced (or committed beginners)

  • Cost: £2200 per person (includes instruction, transport, boat trip, and planning materials)

What You’ll Experience

This is not a typical photo tour. It’s a hands-on, field-based workshop designed to deepen your connection to place and sharpen your creative process. You’ll photograph:

  • Gásadalur – A remote village with a waterfall cascading into the sea

  • Tjørnuvík – Black-sand beach facing the sea stacks of Risin og Kellingin

  • Saksun – A quiet valley of turf-roofed houses and reflective waters

  • Kallur Lighthouse – Cliff-edge compositions reached by ferry and hike

  • Drangarnir Sea Arch – A boat trip to one of the Faroes’ most iconic formations

  • Remote ridges and passes – For solitude, scale, and shifting weather

If skies clear, we’ll shoot at night—Milky Way, aurora borealis, and meteor trails. But this is not an astrophotography workshop. It’s about readiness, responsiveness, and the adventure of working with what the land and sky offer.

What You’ll Learn

  • Composition and exposure techniques for dramatic landscapes

  • Bracketing and blending for dynamic range and mood

  • Drone photography: legal, safe, and story-driven

Instruction is adaptive and personal. You’ll receive guidance tailored to your goals, gear, and experience level.
