ISLE OF HARRIS AND LEWIS 5TH TO 12TH APRIL 2027
7-Night Photography Workshop — Isle of Harris & Lewis
This workshop is built around the dramatic coastlines, tidal landscapes, and ancient sites of Harris and Lewis. Over seven nights, you’ll work through a variety of environments that highlight the islands’ changing light, weather, and textures. There’s no fixed day-by-day structure—each session responds to the conditions, with locations chosen to suit the light.
Core Locations & Shooting Themes
• Luskentyre & Seilebost
Expansive white-sand beaches, shifting tidal pools, and turquoise water. Ideal for minimalist compositions, long lens compression, and foreground pattern studies.
• Scarista & Northton Coast
Rolling surf, machair grasses, salt marsh channels, and dramatic dune shapes. Great for wave-timing work and layered landscape compositions.
• Golden Road & Bays of Harris
Rocky inlets, quiet lochs, dark gneiss coastline, and mirror-still water. Excellent for moody, weather-driven imagery and polarizer practice.
• Callanish Standing Stones
Atmospheric low-light photography, silhouettes, and nighttime sessions with stars. A location for exploring long exposures and high-ISO workflows.
• Gearrannan Blackhouse Village
Stone textures, historic architecture, and detail-focused studies of forms, shadows, and weathered surfaces.
• Uig Sands & Reef Beach
Expansive tidal flats and fine patterns in sand and water. Perfect for abstract work, minimalism, and exploring perspective using both wide and medium telephoto lenses.
• Mangersta Cliffs & Sea Stacks
One of the most dramatic locations on the islands—towering cliffs and powerful Atlantic seas. Ideal for evening light, strong compositions, and dynamic seascapes.
